Unfortunately the recent significant growth
in SMSFs has not gone unnoticed by the scammers. A number have been
detected undertaking unscrupulous activities relating to the
establishment of SMSFs and SMSF investment opportunities. Recently a
staff member received a cold-call from an organisation implying they
knew her personal tax information and could significantly lower her
tax obligations to near zero; they won't take no for an answer. If
they knew her real tax obligation they would know an SMSF was not
for her.
Beware, SMSFs are not cost effective for small investors.
